Pumps in the construction industry

Many construction sites and projects are leveraging our expertise in pumping and fluid management for dependable results.

Construction

Our portfolio of world-class pumping technologies ensures your project is on-time and that processes across your construction site are efficient and safe.

Peristaltic pump technology is ideal for chemical dosing and transfer duties in many construction applications. Unlike diaphragm, rotary or other pump types, with peristaltic pumps there are no valves, vanes or impellers in the fluid path to clog or fail.

The low maintenance peristaltic design offers a low total cost of ownership. As the fluid is safely contained within the hose or tube, operation and maintenance personnel and the environment are protected from unwanted spillages or exposure to chemicals.

Processes in construction where the choice of pump plays a vital role include:

  • Filter press for dewatering
  • Transferring cement slurry
  • Sludge handling (mud, silt, sand)
  • Chemical dosing
  • Treatment of wastewater and concrete washout

Grout

Peristaltic pumps reliably and efficiently handle abrasive fluids such as fast-drying concrete or mortar with ease. Low maintenance ensures high process uptime, helps keep construction projects on plan and controls costs.

Qdos peristaltic metering pumps ensure high accuracy chemical metering and dosing, with +/-1% accuracy at up to 2 L/min. This makes them perfect for dosing costly chemicals such as flocculants and coagulants, additives and colourants. Simple, no-tools pumphead replacement offers the lowest maintenance.

When it comes to transferring slurry or abrasive fluids with high-solids content, Bredel heavy-duty hose pumps deliver consistent flow rates to 108 cubic metres per hour with up to 80% solids in suspension and suction lift to 9.5 metres. The only wear part is the hose, which can be safely replaced in minutes. The precision machined, multi-layered hose is capable of handling fluids with the highest specific gravity containing dry solids of up to 20% bore size.

Our market leading pump, hose and tubing solutions are backed by a global network of specialist engineers providing local expertise and support wherever you are.
