EHS Manager – EMEA

We have an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning company as an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, to drive the implementation of EHS Group Programmes and deliver the EHS Strategy throughout all Sales companies within EMEA.

This role is part of a growing EHS Function of Watson Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) and is an important and integral part of the EMEA region, with a key focus on safety and wellbeing, collaborating with the EMEA teams. Reporting to the Manager – EMEA Special Projects,  the successful candidate will be responsible for embedding a safety culture, driving continuous improvement and EHS Best Practice, and living our values every day. The EHS team has a critical role in the overall ambition to create environments where everyone can thrive, across the whole of WMFTG.  

The role will focus on: 

• Working closely with the EMEA teams, EMEA Regional Management Team and the Global EHS manager.
• Embedding the Group Environmental, Health and Safety policy and other legislation within the various countries in the region, and ensuring compliance of these.
• Developing and implementing global policies, procedures and processes to assist Directors, Managers and all Employees to manage EHS effectively in their businesses across the region.
• Coaching and mentoring the EMEA teams, through various methods including face to face training.
• Assisting with investigations into all near misses and accidents, and environmental incidents, ensuring root-cause analysis is completed and corrective actions identified and closed.
• Driving continuous improvement and sharing EHS Best Practice, aiming for EHS Excellence and zero accidents in the region.
• Leading the implementation of a Behavioural Based Safety Programme across the region
• Measuring and reporting on key EHS performance indicators.
• Establishing and leading an internal audit program, improving the region score annually.
• Managing and providing guidance to the businesses within the region to achieve or maintain certification of OHSAS 45001, ISO 50001 & ISO 14001 standards where applicable

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A relevant health safety and environmental qualification or actively working towards this.
• An Association to a recognised body for EHS and evidence of CPD.
• Strong influencing and communication skills, be structured and organised
• To have the ability to travel within the region regularly as the business demands.
• Demonstrable experience managing EHS in a multi- stakeholder matrix organisation, experience in the manufacturing or sales sectors in an organisation.
• Experience of policy implementation and strategy development
• The ability to influence at all levels and provide hands on support to the region.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring senior managers, EHS professionals and Sales teams across multi-cultures, and multi-countries within the region.
