This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join our Product Management team at Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group.

Reporting to the Product Portfolio Manager you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the growth and overall success of a specific product range. From a clear understanding of your market and customer needs, you will sell your vision to the business through your product strategy. As the owner of product life cycle, you will follow these concepts through the product development process including establishing the requirements, negotiating the engineering response, managing the product launch, and ensuring its fit to the market for the life of the product.

This position is expected to require global travel in the post COVID-19 world and so the successful candidate must have a driving license and current passport to be able to travel internationally.

The role will focus on: 

  • To operate continuously within the Strategy, Values and Sustainability framework of the business
  • To manage a range of product offerings aligned to specific market segments and be responsible for the planning and strategy of its life cycle with the aim of maximising its long term growth and group gross contribution.
  • To develop, prioritise and communicate a vision and roadmap for the product in the form of a product strategy, based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and personal industry insight.
  • To collaborate closely with Engineering Authorities to deliver products that align with the product strategy and the business goals.
  • To collaborate with Global Marketing and Business Development teams to define and communicate the Customer and Product Value Propositions.
  • Be the principle owner of the plan for commercialisation of new products and transition ownership to Global Business Development at an agreed point.
  • If product development is unlikely to deliver the product strategy, then seek to identify attractive products outside of the company portfolio that may add to growth and profitability through acquisition.
  • To manage the product life cycle to maximise overall gross contribution.
  • Follow all the relevant policies and processes required to deliver on the purpose of the job

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering or a Science subject, or equivalent experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing background
  • A strong track record of Product Management Experience with experience of taking products to market and achieving profitable growth.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with an ability to engage with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Company General Managers.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills and the ability to build good business relationships across a wide variety of cultures and languages.
  • Knowledge of Fluid Path and Single-Use products and technologies is desirable.
  • Experience in taking complex data or information and clearly communicating this information simply for stakeholders
  • A can-do attitude with a focus on delivery and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Curiosity, problem solving skills and a desire to learn
